Celeb Inspired Looks

People Magazine is an obsession of mine and one of my book-marked pages. I have recently been stalking their style section to gain some trend inspiration. I have recently been doing a lot of clothing posts because I am in the market for basically a whole new work-appropriate wardrobe. My closet is currently filled with sequins, bright colors and well more sequins... Here are some of the leading ladies that have been inspiring me!

(Structured Blazers, Splattered Dress, Ombre Hair)

(Color Blocking, Chic Pony, Black Sheer Tights)

An Unlikely Pair

When I saw this in people magazine, I was instantly inspired. Besides the fact that Michelle Obama is always impeccably dressed, I really love her fashion risks. Therefore, I want to try to mix and match unlikely colors, prints and materials.

How do you feel about this trend?

Spring Forward... For Less

Spring is right around the corner and my wish-list is getting longer...

1. Elizabeth and James Cat Eye Sunglasses: $155  I am liking the cat-eye sunnies trend; a nice homage to the 1960's.
2. J.Crew Palma Suede Platform Wedges: $178  Pastel shoes? How about pastel anything! A staple to spring... pastels enhance your tan and are perfect when the flowers are in bloom.
3. Nanette Lepore Eye Candy Dress: $328  In the tri-state area, spring usually lends to a slight wind and temperatures in the low 70's. Therefore a long sleeve chiffon dress is just what you need when going to class or running errands.
4. Vince. Slim Jeans: $225  Lastly, it is just about time to bring back the white! White jeans, white tops and white sandals.

Now that Spring Break is over and my bank account is basically depleted, it is nice to know that you can still rock the spring trends and look fabulous... for less. LC by Lauren Conrad is one of my favorite brands and you can find it at Kohls!

1. Oversized Cat's-Eye Sunglasses: $19.99
2. Peep-Toe Platform Wedge: $27.97
3. Cherry Bow Dress: $39.99
4. Pencil Jeans: $42

Pleat Deets!

With the weather hitting 60 degrees this past week in New Jersey, it seems as though spring is right around the corner! Pleats and Pastels are all the trend. They lend such a flirty and fun vibe when paired with a blouse and cute sandals. Here are some of my favorites for this spring… some of these skirts do remind me of my high school cheerleading days though!

1. Alaia Skirt, Alaia: $2,290
2. Arte Wool Pleated Skirt, French Connection: $148 $39.99
3. Pleat Maxi Skirt, Hive and Honey on Piperlime: $49
4. Invert Pleat Flippy Skirt, Top Shop: $60
5. Chiffon Maxi Skirt, Express: $69.90 $34.95
6. Crystal Pleated Skirt, The Limited: $59.90 $8.99

Dare to go….

Bare? Have you ever been to a Music Festival and saw what some of the girls wear there? I guess designers around the world saw what I saw and decided to make it classier. Instead of just wearing your bra, they made it an inch or two longer under the bust and created an ultra-retro Bra Top. Bra Tops were all over the runway in the ready to wear Spring 2012 collections. The tops were matched with adorable pencil and flared skirts. I don’t know about you, but at first I was very hesitant when I heard about the idea of women just wearing a bra as their top, but I am pleasantly surprised with the overall look.

Even Gwyneth Paltrow Rocked an Emilio Pucci Bra Top/skirt at the 2011 Emmys. She wins most daring look for that award show in my book!

As always, thanks for reading
